A blowout preventer is a large, specialized mechanical valve, used to seal, control and monitor oil and gas wells to prevent blowouts. At Quantum, we know there’s more to it than this. A properly installed BOP requires thoughtful analysis before any valves are installed. This is our key to preventing the uncontrolled release of crude oil and/or natural gas from a well. Our blowout preventers can be installed in stacks of other valves, or custom configurations.
